Description
The module accepts dual-pulse signals from turbine preamplifiers, positive displacement meters or Coriolis meters and performs integrity checks.
Outputs from the module indicate the results of the checks as status/alarm signals and secure pulses streams which may be counted by external circuits.
Features
These facilities together with others implemented in the associated Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and field/panel wiring allow certain requirements of standard BS EN ISO 6551:1996 ‘Petroleum liquids and gases – Fidelity and security of dynamic measurement-Cabled transmission of electrical and/or electronic pulsed data’ to be met.
Although the standard defines five levels (A-E), the only levels of significance for this duty are the highest, Level A and Level B. Under certain fault conditions the achieved level may fall back to the lowest, Level E.
Additional functionality includes:
- Generating a pulse stream gated by external prover detector switches;
- Selection of input conditioning to suit typical field equipment.
- Configuration to allow Master Meter applications to be implemented.
